Saint James Family

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.

Colossians 3:16

At St. James, we believe Jesus died to take away our sins; not our minds. We are a warm and welcoming family that makes our best effort to love one another, not just in church on Sunday mornings but also in the Alexander City and Lake Martin communities throughout the week. We are an active congregation that serves Christ in and through each other and the communities in which we live and work and play. St. James is an historic, prayerful and liturgical family that attends to each other through a variety of ministries, including the prayer quilt guild, the men’s construction team, foyer dinners, Episcopal Church Women (ECW) and Daughters of the King. We meet needs of the community through Feast of Sharing, the pottery and art guilds, Lenten Lunches and support of the Tallapoosa County Crisis Center through board membership, financial assistance and active volunteerism.

We invite you to join us in work, play and worship.

The Rev. Rob St. Germain-Iler, Rector

“We at St. James are a dynamic, energetic and fun community of Christ-centered people. I invite you to join us at worship where the Holy Spirit works in our community of faith.”

The Rev. Rob Iler earned a Master’s of Divinity at The School of Theology, The University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee, and in 2006 was ordained to the priesthood in the Diocese of Alabama where he has served since that time. He preaches a Gospel message of love and grace, joy and hope, and invites you to prayerfully consider making St. James your church home.

The Reverend Judy G. Quick, Deacon

“…Love one another as I have loved you.” (John 15:12)

What a joy it is to join the St. James family as your deacon, a call to serve with Father Rob and with you all as we walk the Way of Jesus, the Way of Love.

As most of you know, a deacon in the Episcopal Church is an ordained clergyperson called to bring the needs of the world to the church and the needs of the church to the world. In essence, it’s a bridge ministry.

The Holy Spirit leads us in this ministry together. I continue to listen for that guidance.
