A Note From Father Bob
St. James has a history of having a Deacon as a part of our ministry team. From Andrea Peacock to Judy Quick, you have had faithful servants who have worked in the community, in the parish and at the altar. I am excited to announce that The Rev. Deacon Elaine Clements will begin serving on a part time basis at St. James. Elaine is a deacon in the Diocese of Louisiana, where she continues to serve that diocese at the diocesan level. Bishop Richard of Alabama has given his whole hearted consent for her to help here at St. James.
She will be serving at the altar twice a month, until a new rector is called. It will then be up to the new rector to decide if he/she desires the role of deacon in the ministry of the parish. I appreciate her willingness to help us here, at this time. Please keep her in your prayers as she steps into this role. Many of you know Elaine and John. They live in Dadeville, and have been a part of St. James for many years. Perhaps you just didn’t know that she is a deacon. She, like so many of the St. James’ family, so freely offers her gifts to the glory of God and the betterment of our Church.
Thank you.
