MINISTRIES: Potters Guild
Potter’s Guild
The Potter’s Guild ministries at St. James serve outreach and inreach needs of the community. Guild volunteers fashion crosses for patients at UAB/RMC – The Cancer Center, as well as newly baptized and confirmed/received members. They also make a wide variety of gifts for sale at the annual Christmas Bazaar, which contributes significantly to church ministries, such as outreach. Their fish platters, tapas plates, bowls and crosses are so popular that the guild works all year to develop inventory that usually is depleted within only a few short hours.
Under the guidance of Sue Pritchard and Martha Chapman, the projects are easy to learn and offer many opportunities for creativity as one develops the skill for more complicated pieces.
The Potter’s Guild meets downstairs at the church from February through October on Thursday mornings from 10 until noon.   Drop ins are always welcome during any or all of these times. Just follow the Potter’s Guild signs.
